Do you Have Joy In your Heart?

Rumi......

Everything other than love for the most beautiful God
 though it be sugar- eating.

What is agony of the spirit?

To advance toward death without seizing

hold of the Water of Life.

A Lifetime Of love

In your lifetime, You have a people that walk into your life that impact you, "a reason ,a season, or a lifetime"
Then there are those that walk into your life slowly, patiently , and ever so lovely, those..you hold onto.

We all have soul mates, they could be your sister, your friend, a lover...your partner in crime... Recognize who they are, celebrate them, honor them, encourage them, and respect them. With them you will have a lifetime of love, that trancends time, and space. Today I celebrate mine. :) xoxoxoxox

Lifes Simple Treasures

The sweet smell of summer, comes to a close, and end of a chapter, a season, a story, a legend in our hearts....Life is the Bitter and the Sweet. Today I honor the sweet. :)
White Horses by Rudyard Kipling
Where run your colts at pasture?
Where hide your mares to breed?
'Mid bergs about the Ice-cap
Or wove Sargasso weed;
By chartless reef and channel,
Or crafty coastwise bars,
But most the ocean-meadows
All purple to the stars!

Who holds the rein upon you?
The latest gale let free.
What meat is in your mangers?
The glut of all the sea.
'Twixt tide and tide's returning
Great store of newly dead, --
The bones of those that faced us,
And the hearts of those that fled.
Afar, off-shore and single,
Some stallion, rearing swift,
Neighs hungry for new fodder,
And calls us to the drift:
Then down the cloven ridges --
A million hooves unshod --
Break forth the mad White Horses
To seek their meat from God!

Girth-deep in hissing water
Our furious vanguard strains --
Through mist of mighty tramplings
Roll up the fore-blown manes --
A hundred leagues to leeward,
Ere yet the deep is stirred,
The groaning rollers carry
The coming of the herd!

Whose hand may grip your nostrils --
Your forelock who may hold?
E'en they that use the broads with us --
The riders bred and bold,
That spy upon our matings,
That rope us where we run --
They know the strong White Horses
From father unto son.

We breathe about their cradles,
We race their babes ashore,
We snuff against their thresholds,
We nuzzle at their door;
By day with stamping squadrons,
By night in whinnying droves,
Creep up the wise White Horses,
To call them from their loves.

And come they for your calling?
No wit of man may save.
They hear the loosed White Horses
Above their fathers' grave;
And, kin of those we crippled,
And, sons of those we slew,
Spur down the wild white riders
To school the herds anew.

What service have ye paid them,
Oh jealous steeds and strong?
Save we that throw their weaklings,
Is none dare work them wrong;
While thick around the homestead
Our snow-backed leaders graze --
A guard behind their plunder,
And a veil before their ways.

With march and countermarchings --
With weight of wheeling hosts --
Stray mob or bands embattled --
We ring the chosen coasts:
And, careless of our clamour
That bids the stranger fly,
At peace with our pickets
The wild white riders lie.

. . . .

Trust ye that curdled hollows --
Trust ye the neighing wind --
Trust ye the moaning groundswell --
Our herds are close behind!
To bray your foeman's armies --
To chill and snap his sword --
Trust ye the wild White Horses,
The Horses of the Lord!

A Musing....

The Muses (Ancient Greek αἱ μοῦσαι, hai moũsai:[1] perhaps from the o-grade of the Proto-Indo-European root *men- "think"[2]) in Greek mythology, poetry and literature are the goddesses who inspire the creation of literature and the arts. They were considered the source of the knowledge, related orally for centuries in the ancient culture, that was contained in poetic lyrics and myths. The compliment to a real woman who inspires creative endeavor is a later idea.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muse

Restaurant Pick Of The Week

I havent given any restaurant props lately, so here is one for ya!
Need a place for a Sexy Cheese Sandwich?
There are certain restaurants that ooze charm and charisma and Campanile is certainly one of them. It came highly recommended from a close friend of mine who truly knows the hot-spots. I knew it would be good, but from the moment I arrived, it exceeded even that expectation and was great!
The building was once the home of Charlie Chaplan’s office and the design has maintained this “old Hollywood” feel. That’s what makes Campanile different, it has character and it has charm, something hard to find in a city which revolves around the latest trend. Despite the Charlie Chaplan connection, Campanile is not a tourist trap. It has a faithful following of industry insiders and Angelenos in the know, making it well worth a visit when in Los Angeles.
It a great spot, for power lunch (do people still have those?), a date..or you know me, simply a 'girls night out! This charimg Campanile has a certain wow factor, combined with a menu that will appeal to even the most discerning foodie.

White Jeans!!!

Ok Lovely Ladies, its official, it is White Jean Season!!
Pair them with a great spring sweater, or fun tank...pumps or flats..

White denim lends itself to a clean, nautical and all around "jet-set" feel. You can wear it casually or dress it up for a night out on the town. Looking at the gorgeous lady-loves who have been spotted in their white hot denim, take some notes. Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham, Hilary Duff and Jennifer Lopez ALL paired their white with shades of gray...although Victoria is a bit more shimmery silver. How great does this color combo fare? LOVE it! Nicole went nautical with her blue/white stripes and sneakers...her overall look is "OK" in my book...but I like the 'idea' she's after!

I Love These :)))

It seems that cult-tastic makeup brand, MAC Cosmetics has yet again come up with another great way to surprise its fans through what else, than a brand new makeup collection for spring 2011 titled MAC Jeanius.
As the makeup collection's name suggests, line is inspired by the spring 2011 denim trends and suit the season's textures and colors perfectly. You can observe a perfect combination of spring shades which are fun and in total balance with the latest make up trends.
A lipstick should never miss from a woman's makeup kit, so you definitely have to add one of the following 3 lip color shades from the Jeanius makeup collection:

  • Acid Washed Grayish - a pearled beige

  • Pretty Please – a soft pink pearl shade (my    favorite pick!)

  • Riveting Rose Deep – a burgundy/violet pearled shade

  • 5 Ways To Be A Modern Gentleman

Tom Ford may have started designing womenswear for his eponymous label recently, but for years he has worked solely on menswear, which has filled him with the knowledge needed to create the perfect modern gentlemen. For the upcoming Spring/Summer 2011 issue of Another Man, Tom graces the cover and poses for a shoot with photographer Jeff Burton. Inside the issue, he also divulges his top 5 tips on how to be a modern gentleman in an intimate interview with Jefferson Hack. Tom comments in the interview:

    1. You should put on the best version of yourself when you go out in the world because that is a show of respect to the other people around you.

    2. A gentleman today has to work. People who do not work are so boring and are usually bored. You have to be passionate, you have to be engaged and you have to be contributing to the world.

    3. Manners are very important and actually knowing when things are appropriate. I always open doors for women, I carry their coat, I make sure that they're walking on the inside of the street. Stand up when people arrive at and leave the dinner table.

    4. Don't be pretentious or racist or sexist or judge people by their background.

    5. A man should never wear shorts in the city. Flip-flops and shorts in the city are never appropriate. Shorts should only be worn on the tennis court or on the beach.
